15 books I want to read in 2015

15books to read in 2015

I’m a little bit late to the party, but here we go: 15 books (I already own) that I want to read in 2015: (in no particular order)

The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu

Books and Pieces talked about this one quite a lot and it sounded really interesting to me. I can’t remember what is it about now, but I know that it is one of the major works of Chinese Science Fiction, and it has just been translated for the first time in 2014.

The Adjacent by Christopher Priest

This is Priest’s latest novel to date. I’ve been wanting to read it for a long time and never got around to it. I have a lot of Priest’s books that I haven’t actually read, so I’m going to try and make my way through them this year.

Neuromancer by William Gibson

A staple in Science Fiction literature. I need to read it. Plus, I hear it is very good.

The Once and Future King by T.H. White

I have had this for over a year, since my dear friend Candice gifted it to my for my birthday. Considering the size of the book, you can understand why I still haven’t picked it up, but I really want to.

The Magicians Trilogy by Lev Grossman

Now that the complete trilogy has been published, and since it is apparently excellent, I want to try and read it.

The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck

In January 2014, I went to California (where Steinbeck spent most of his life actually). There, I bought basically all of Steinbeck’s bibliography (his “major” works anyway), and still haven’t read any (except for Of Mice and Men), so I definitely need to get on that!

The Prestige by Christopher Priest

Another of my Christopher Priest books that I need to read. I adore the movie, but my understanding is that the book is a bit different, so I want to see this for myself.

Slaughter-House Five by Kurt Vonnegut

Classic Sci-Fi. Need to read.

The Martian by Andy Weir

One of the best books of 2014 according to Goodreads. I have heard a lot of really good things about this, and it just sounds really interesting and I want to read it!

Moby Dick by Herman Melville

Do I even need to say anything about this? It’s a classic. I need to read it! ASAP.

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

A lot of controversy around this book, and however disturbing, I really want to see what all the fuss is about.

Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey

This has been recommended to me on Goodreads for ever. I finally caved and bought the first book of the series. Can’t remember what it is about, but if I bought it I must have found some interest in it.

American Gods by Neil Gaiman

I’m still waiting for my “OMG NEIL GAIMAN IS A GENIUS” moment. And word is, this book might be the one to change my mind.

Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie

Sci-Fi. Gender bending. Hugo Award winning. Again, Books and Pieces raved about this, and the whole concept sounds really interesting.

The Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness (not pictured)

I don’t think I heard/read one bad review about this trilogy, everybody seems to be in love with it. I have the complete trilogy, so I need to get on that.

Well there you go, these are the books I own that I am most eager to read in 2015 (because I need to reduce that TBR before considering buying new books).
What are your most anticipated reads of 2015?
